Alltek Y-Max (Tyrex)

DESCRIPTION

Lightweight scratch plaster with high filling capacity for airless application. Alltek Spray Y-Max is a ready mixed grey plaster based on lightweight fillers that is particularly easy to smooth and sand. Alltek Spray Y-Max is delivered in 112 l returnable or paperboard drums for our Tyrex system.

USE

  • Interior plaster for walls and ceilings on all standard substrates with uneven surface.
  • Ideal for cellular concrete blocks and rough concrete due to its filling power.
  • Smooth finish after smoothing and sanding.
  • Manual application possible.
Typical spreadability 2.8 to 6 kg/m² per layer depending on smoothness of substrate.

  • Min. thickness: 2 mm

  • 24 to 48 h on average, depending on application thickness, temperature, ventilation, humidity and substrate type. Sanding and recoating: after complete drying.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE

  • Returnable, stackable 112 l plastic drum with protective cover.
  • Shelf life is 9 months in unopened original packaging, protected from frost and extreme heat.

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION

  • VOC content: < 1 g/l.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Substrates:

  • Rough concrete (slab floors, precast slabs, formwork, concrete blocks).
  • Brick tiles, Monomur bricks, gypsum blocks, plasterboard, plaster.
  • Cellular concrete blocks after repair of spalling.

Preparation of substrate:

  • The substrates, preparatory work and application conditions must be compliant with applicable building trade regulations (e.g. DTU) and standards.

Application tips:

  • Xtreme 60 pump system with 112 l drum (contact us).
  • Airless 35 to 41 nozzles, depending on condition of substrate and equipment used (follow the manufacturer’s advice). For a maximum yield, the use of a spray kit is advised.
  • If necessary, first treat joints between blocks etc. with Alltek Spray Y-Max.
  • Apply an initial smooth layer thick (3mm). After drying, apply a second layer less thickly to obtain a better finish.
  • Sand manually or with a machine to achieve a smooth surface ready to paint.
  • Sanding with grain size 100 to 150.

Recommendations:

  • Ensure adequate ventilation to remove excess moisture and accelerate drying.
